Hey folks,
We here at Possum Central have been absolutely blown away by everyone’s generosity during the last several days. Our Kickstarter campaign is off to a great start, with pledges totaling more than $2000. We’re ecstatic and extremely thankful for our friends, fans and family. If you haven’t pledged yet, there is still plenty of time.

The time has finally come for Possum Jenkins to kick off our Kickstarter campaign.

Starting today, April 18, we’re asking everyone-our friends, fans and family-to chip in a little a bit of your hard earned cash to help us make a new record next month.

We should point out that we’re not looking for a handout. For each donation you make to the campaign, you’ll receive a corresponding reward: from an advance copy of the CD to an exclusive invite to a CD release pre-party and lots more.

Folks, we’ve got 45 days to make this campaign a success. We sincerely hope you can help.

Howdy folks,
Dave Brewer here from Los Possums. My sincere apologies for being absent from our website for more than four months. We’ve been neglecting you and we apologize.

Now that we’ve got the requisite ass kissing out of the way, we’ve got all sorts of things to talk about.

First and foremost, a big thanks to The Shucks for having us down to Deep South Bar in Raleigh a few weeks back, the fine folks at Old Winston Social Club for an awesome St. Paddy’s show, and last but not least, to Brett, Bobby and the guys at The Windjammer for showing us a great time two nights in a row. Saturday night’s crowd was one of the best in ages. Thanks y’all. For reals.

As you might have heard, Possum is about to begin a Kickstarter campaign to help fund our next recording venture, slated to take place the last weekend of May at Electromagnetic Radiation Recorders in Winston-Salem. If you’re not familiar with Kickstarter, click over to their website and check them out.

From their website: Kickstarter is the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world. Every month, tens of thousands of amazing people pledge millions of dollars to projects from the worlds of music, film, art, technology, design, food, publishing and other creative fields.

So yeah, we’re asking you, our friends, fans and family to help us make an album by giving us a little cash. In return, we’ll offer you something as small as an advanced copy of the disc, or as big as a private performance at your house. Stay tuned for more details.

In the coming weeks, we’ve got shows lined up in Boone, Charlotte, Roanoke and lots more shows later this spring and summer. Y’all come and make some noise for us if you can.

Behold Jared at the bowling alley.

Hey folks,
I know…I know…we’ve been totally M.I.A. from our website in recent months. We’d like to formally apologize for our lack of updating this fine site that our good friend Jamie Carroll was so kind to construct. Sorry y’all. HOWEVER…we promise to get back on the horse and keep you abreast of everything that’s happening in Possum land.

Big thanks to those of you who’ve been coming out to our most recent round of shows. We had a blast in Boone and Winston last weekend, as well as at our most recent Sadlack’s show in Raleigh. We can’t thank y’all enough for showing up and enjoying some tunes and cold snacks with us.

We’ve got several more shows on the horizon, including this Saturday’s headlining set at The Evening Muse, our Halloween bash at the Old Winston Social Club, our first-ever Durham show with our friends Benyaro, another trip to the South Carolina and The Windjammer and our annual Thanksgiving throw-down at The Garage in Winston-Salem.

And just so you don’t think we’ve become totally complacent following the release of our record-breaking, chart-topping international smash hit album “Collection Of Bad Habits,” we’ve decided to head back to the friendly confines of EMR Recorders in early December to spend some quality time with our good friend Doug Williams!! We promise a new release in 2011.

And we’ve got new shirts: light blue girly tees and ASU/Wake Forest black and gold men’s tees. Give us a holler at thepossumjenkinsband@yahoo.com if you need to get your hands on one and won’t be at an upcoming show.

Well, I reckon that’s about all that’s shaking here at Possum Central. Hopefully we’ll see you soon. Enjoy the fall!

Well, that pretty much sums it up. Florida-based music blogger Brian Childs recently included “Bloodshot Eyes” on his monthly podcast. But as if that weren’t enough to get us all excited and stuff, he went and gave Collection Of Bad Habits a pretty nice review. We’ve never met Brian, but we like him already.
