Hey folks,
Spring has taken hold and the mighty Possum has risen from its winter hibernation and taken to the road. Things got underway last weekend with three great shows in Martinsville, VA, Greensboro and Winston-Salem respectively. We knocked the dust off, saw some old friends and generally had a blast.
We’ve got a pair of big shows beginning with tomorrow night’s Appalachian Voices benefit at the new Blind Tiger in Greensboro. In addition to raising money for a great cause, this will be the first chance to catch us on the same bill with The Wurlitzer Prize–a new project featuring our own Jared Church, Dave Willis and Brent Buckner alongside longtime cohort and Carolinacana contributor Molly McGinn (ex-Amelia’s Mechanics). Show starts at 10 p.m. and there is a $10 cover.
On Wednesday, March 28, Possum Jenkins will head to the Queen City where we’ll make our Visulite Theatre debut, opening for Knoxville’s Dirty Guv’nahs. The Visulite is one of Charlotte’s finest rooms and we’ve wanted to play there for some time. We’d love to see all of our Charlotte folks out there, even if it is a school night.
As you may have noticed, our good friend Jamie Carroll has given possumjenkinsband.com a serious spring cleaning. Click through the site if you get a second and peruse his handywork!
